Arrival of the Fabulous Five

On the 26th July Scully delivered her five girls. We were both taken by surprise with the first one. She had been panting the evening before so Andy had set up the whelping box in the office and a bed for me.  She slept in the box overnight and next morning got up, went out with Andy for her morning walk, had her breakfast and returned to the box .  I was working  at the desk with my back to her,  around 10:30 I become aware that a lot of licking was going on and turned to see her helping her first born out of the amniotic sac,  as I went over to her she stopped licking and gave me an “am I supposed to be doing this” look, and after a bit of reassurance from me carried on.  Numbers 2 & 3 came in quick succesion about an hour and a half later,  number 4 after another hour and the last one at 14:00, she was very calm throughout the whole thing.

Vet came the next day and gave them a check. Since then we have a pretty good routine going and they are all gaining weight rapidly, Scully is  an attentive mum but also relaxed about me handling the puppies at the morning weigh in. Looking forward to them opening their eyes within the next few days.

  1. What beautiful dogs you have, if it is possible I would love to visit and hopefully buy one of your lovely puppies.

    • Thank you. They are all reserved.
Check out approved breeders on the CCGB and also information on cockapoo meets on the CCGBchat. Meets are a great way of meeting cockapoo owners and learning about their experiences and recommendations for breeders.
      Good luck.

  2. Hello,

We are a family of 4 living in Antibes in France. We are looking for a cockapoo puppy F1 and I am wondering if you have any litters planned??? My sister lives in London so would make it easy to come and visit etc. Please contact me. Maybe you know someone else otherwise that have puppies?

Sorry for the delay in responding, Scully’s puppies have already been sold, I had a waiting list as soon as the pregnancy was confirmed. Have a look at the CCGB website there ar a couple of professional breeders who are familiar with preparing puppies for export.
      good luck with your search

      Thank you for your email
I am a hobby breeder, we will not be breeding again
for 12/14 months, dependent upon the date she next comes into season as
I will not be mating her during her next season.

In addition to looking for a breeder approved by CCGB, you could look at
their website for a local cockapoo meet, this would give you an
opportunity to see all the variations of cockapoos and also meet owners
and hear their experiences of the breeders their dogs came from.

Best of luck with your search

      Kind regards
      Carole

  4. I live in Radlett Hertfordshire,

As all your puppies are now reserved would you be kind enough to recommend another breeder who may be local to me.

    Many thanks

      Hi Malcolm
Have a look at the breeders listed here:
      http://www.cockapooclubgb.co.uk/ccgb-approved-breeders.html
They will have been through the approval process so have demonstrated that they meet the club’s criteria. You may find you have to travel quite a way to find the puppy that’s right for you, but it is worth spending time on the research and visiting different breeders as it is a very long term commitment that your making.

  5. Hello,
Can you please give me some more information on the litter you have planned for 2017?
    Thank
    You

      Hi Elimer
We are not expecting to breed until the season after her next one which probably means October /November 2017, with an 8 week gestation and then 8 weeks with mum, the next puppies wont be ready for their new homes until early 2018.
I will update on here once she has her next season.
      Regards

  6. Hello Carol,

Your puppies are adorable!! What a lucky puppy mum you are how are they all doing in their new homes?

We would be interested in a puppy from you when you are next ready to breed, I appreciate you are a hobby breeder and we are in no rush to get a puppy as we are moving to our new home mid way through next year.

If you could keep us in mind I’d be very grateful.
    Many Thanks,
